Do Superheroes Exist In The Ocean? Of Corals They Do

The ocean is full of heroes who contribute every day to the health of our ocean planet. And we're not just talking about our amazing local reef restoration partners at Ocean Gardener - but the living corals themselves! These little guys are the real heroes of this story, as they provide the foundation upon which the whole coral reef ecosystem depends.
Check out these photos of the latest progress report from our coral reef restoration project in Bali, including our new project site at #CrystalBay on Nusa Pineda.
Want to be an ocean hero too? Swim on over to our SeaTrees website and plant your first coral tree in the sea today.
Why are coral reefs important to all us humans? 25% of all life in the ocean depends on healthy coral reefs as part of their lifecycle, and billions of people around the world depend on subsistence fishing for their everyday meals.

Still need another reason to #ActNow? Coral reefs make the best waves on the planet.

Surfer vs. Planet

Sometimes, you have to look back at where you've been — to know where you should be heading.

We're stoked to share the new Surfer vs. Planet report by our pals at Wave Changer, which includes a deep dive into many of this year's finest wood-based surfboard builders (aka the OG surfboard material choice).

The Wave Changer report features many of our ECOBOARD partners around the world, like Notox Surf, Timber Surf Co, Grow Blanks, WAWA Wooden Surfboards, and many more, all specializing in using timber and cork to craft their innovative surf crafts.

At the other end of the spectrum is the relatively novel rise of #softtop boards that (like it or not) have become ubiquitous at beaches worldwide.

Which is why we're glad to hear the good news regarding the recyclable materials being used by our pals at Formula Fun FoamiesINT Softboards, and SpookedKooks (who also plant SeaTrees for every board sold).

Head over to Wave Changer for a look back (and ahead) at some of this year's best options for getting future you a better performing surfboard, that's also better for our ocean planet.

Celebrate #GivingTuesday with SeaTrees!

Mark your Calendars! Join us on November 29th for the 10th annual GivingTuesday event.

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Everyone has something to give, and every act of generosity counts. We encourage you to join the movement and give back to our Ocean Planet.
Participate in this global movement and plant your very own SeaTree this #GivingTuesday. As little as one SeaTree makes a difference in our mission to turn the tide on climate change.

We've put together this toolkit for you to share your generosity and positive impact with others.

If you want to get a head start on the giving season, click here to plant your first tree in the sea.
