It’s June, and you know what that means…Happy National Oceans Month! The 2022 theme is Revitalization: Collective Action for the Ocean.
The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth’s surface. As the largest ecosystem on our planet, it functions as a life support system for all its inhabitants - from humans to whales to teeny tiny corals.
This month SeaTrees is partnering with incredible organizations that support our mission to restore ocean health in some fun and exciting ways.
We kicked off the month with our coral restoration project in Bali, Indonesia, with the support of Boardriders and our project partner Ocean Gardener. With their help (and yours), we’re regrowing Bali’s coral reefs one piece at a time.
If you haven’t seen our latest film on this project, check it out here!
Helping is Kelping
SeaTrees has partnered with 12Tides this World Oceans Day to restore our kelp forests. They will have an #oceanpositive raffle to raise funds for SeaTrees, right up the road from our restoration site in Palos Verdes!
If you're in the LA area next weekend, surf over to Erewhon Palisades and help us support the restoration of California's native kelp forests.
Preserve Our Oceans
The next bit of ocean positive news is our collaboration with Preserve. They will be supporting our efforts to regenerate ocean health by creating products made from plastic collected from coastlines, that were at risk of entering the ocean.
Preserve will be donating 25% of the proceeds from the POPi Gift Box to SeaTrees and other non-profits that clean up oceans and beaches, support marine conservation, and research plastic pollution.
Concert for Climate
Our partners at Everland are putting on a show tomorrow to celebrate their release of “The Forest Plan.”
The show will feature artists from around the world, raising awareness of the urgent need to end deforestation by 2030 and safeguard all life on Earth. Their all-star lineup will include Julian Lennon, Julian Marley and the Uprising, Gennady, Rusty Watson & The Legacy Singers with the Solid Gospel, All Ways with Dara Hart, Josh Tosteson and Jimmy Lopez, and MC - Kodjo Akolor.
Tune in tomorrow night to live-stream the event and get grooving toward a greener tomorrow!
