Kelping out the planet with kindness

Need a #kelptastic way to round out your Earth Month celebrations? Join us for a free live virtual event – hosted by surfing-stylist Kassia Meador this Thursday, April 29th at 12pm PST. We’ll be diving deep on kelp, carbon, cross-stepping, and kindness with artist Charlie Callahan, surfer/shaper/musician/author Ashley Lloyd, and the crew from Kindhumans.

 Sign up here.

Why are we diving deep on kelp? We just launched this kelp-restoring, organic cotton t-shirt with Kindhumans – featuring the ocean-inspired art of Charlie Callahan. Every t-shirt sold restores five square feet of Giant Kelp in the SeaTrees kelp forest project.

Our project partners at The Bay Foundation are helping to bring this world-class project in Los Angeles back to its former glory by managing and monitoring the number of purple urchins in the area – urchins are part of the ecosystem, but humans and climate change have created a zombie urchin ecosystem imbalance all along California's coastline – find out more during the event.

+++ your feet can be extra-kind this Earth Month.

Sean at Alimo just launched these naturally-dyed socks with Arvin Goods. The sun-drenched yellow does a pretty great job of capturing the fun-loving attitude that we love from Alimo. Sean’s also produced a handful of limited-edition “Party Wave” prints that reflect Arvin’s collective approach to making the world a better place.

10% of sales are being donated to planting + protecting SeaTrees - YEW!

For the entire month of April, SeaVees is once again donating $5 from every pair of shoes sold to one of three non-profit partners. Last year’s donation from SeaVees helped us to expand kelp restoration in Palos Verdes, California and launch our latest kelp project in partnership with Reef Check California.

Think a friend might enjoy joining us on this journey? Pass this along! Or invite them to sign-up for more right here.
